- Description and Purpose
Pinnacle Rubber Mulch is a loose fill, recycled rubber playground safety surface. When properly installed and maintained, Pinnacle Rubber Mulch provides a playground surface that meets or exceeds U.S. Product Safety Commission guidelines and ASTM Standards for play surfaces.
- Material
The core substrate used in Pinnacle Rubber Mulch is shredded auto and truck tires.
- Size Range
The particle size range for Pinnacle Rubber Mulch is 3/8” to 3⁄4”. Rubber nuggets are irregular in shape and size.
- Metal Content
Pinnacle Rubber Mulch is greater than 99.99% metal-free. This is based on the number of pieces of rubber with exposed metal.
- Coating
Non toxic, polyurethane coating chemically cured to the rubber.
- Zinc Leach Reduction
While the potential for zinc leach from Pinnacle Rubber Mulch is below the EPA’s Secondary Maximum Contaminate Levels (SMCL), the proprietary coating used in Pinnacle Rubber Mulch reduces zinc leaching and run off by at least 60% when using a constant water flush test method.
- Wheelchair Accessibility
When properly installed and maintained, a depth of 6” of Pinnacle Rubber Mulch is wheel chair accessible per ASTM F1951-99.
- Head Impact Protection
When properly installed and maintained, a 6” depth of Pinnacle Rubber Mulch provides 16’ of fall height protection per ASTM F1292-04.
- IPEMA Certification
Pinnacle Rubber Mulch is IPEMA certified for ASTM F1292-04.
- Product Warranty
Pinnacle Rubber Mulch will retain at least 50% of its color based on opacity, for 10 years.
